christianity, Can someone help? I have of course been to many christian churches many times, and almost every time i feel in my head that a large amount of what the minister is saying is b.s. In fact, it almost seems like his words sometimes anger me. I have one question that i cannot get out of my head, and i'd appreciate some christian answers.
1. If the devil was banished from heaven, forever gods enemy, wouldn't he embrace the people sent to him who did not follow his enemy. Common sense tells you that he would want to make it a place people would want to go, therefore trying to make people choose to go to hell instead of heaven by choice.

Also, i keep feeling that it is ignorant to believe in a god. I mean, as much as I would like to go to a heaven of sorts, it seems to me more and more everyday that once i am dead, i am dead. How could i possibly keep living in a way, even after all of my organs have stopped working. I'm just really confused religiously right now, and am not sure what to believe. Thanks.

1. I would disagree that the devil made Hell nor does he have any control over what kind of a place it is. I believe God is in control of that.

2. the concept is that once you're dead you enter the spiritual realm. I can't really explain it anymore then that since I haven't been there.

1) the devil is the complete opposite of God. God is love and the devil is hate. he Hates God so much that he wants to lure people away from God. it is his way of spitting in God's face. Basically, the devil leads us away from God, not to Himself.
for a more in-depth description of the way the devil works, read "the screwtape letters" by CS Lewis. the book is based on the idea that every human has a "guardian devil" htat is responsible for their eternal damnation. the book is a collection of letters written by a veteran devil to his apprentice about how to get people into hell. at the end, there is a scene where the demons in Hell feast on the souls of the people in Hell

2) this is very hard to understand. at 12 AM i dont have the best answer and dont want to say the wrong thing, so ill just say "what do you have to lose by following God if there really is no God?" nothing, other than time and money, which have no effect on you once youre dead
"what do you have to lose by not following God if there really is a God?"
a lot

Would you rather die knowing you believed in God, or die and later see the Truth- that He DOES exist??

The Bible is full of contradictions, it's not worthy of belief let alone worship. But, you know, there is more than just Christianity and atheism.

Hi Willie, I cannot speak for many hear, but for myself , God does embrace me and my family here on earth and HE promises even more after this brief life.

Willie, I'm not trying to sound cruel, but you seem angry at God for some reason or another. And while I can feel your pain that you absorb when you look around and see all the gloom and fading life all around you, I have to tell you brother, "Only YOU can make the difference in your life." And you have to take care of YOU before you attempt to help anyone else. Allow God to heal YOU first, then you might see others in a different light. I'm guessing you live in a suburb where there is killing, deceit, drugs and poverty. But you don't have to subject yourself to that when you get older.

Get a good education and know that God puts talents and traits in each of us, as HE gives us each personal qualities and gifts that we will later share with others in the workplace.

As for being Dead, YES your body will die. But God doesn't want the part of us that we only abused and shamed. HE wants that special part of us, our spirits, that we nurished and the part that worshiped and accepted HIM into our lives.

Brother, I once believed as you did, many many years ago, and until I finally learned to trust and believe fully in HIM , I could not begin to live a successful , and peaceful and joyful life ,with all the trimmings and pleasures that God would allow.

I'm a Christian atheist, so I can't speak for most others, but yeah. Satanic temptation is a generally agreed upon phenomenon - Jesus was tempted by him in the New Testament. The point of life, according to most Christians, is to live for, and have faith in, God and Christ. That doesn't mean we don't have the option to dissent (or become tempted by Satan).

I don't think it's ignorant to believe in God, because theism isn't mutually exclusive with logical thought and it's been statistically proven that religiosity makes people happier.
