i can't jailbreak my iphone 3gs, which is now updated to the new ios version 4.1, and am trying to downgrade it so that I can jailbreak it. I decided a while ago that I dont really need to jailbreak, but found out that there is an app on cydia that can enable tethering! So that is probably the main reason why I want to jailbreak.
I have updated to itunes 10, and have tried to downgrade my iphone to 4.0.1 and downloaded the file to downgrade it and reboot, but itunes 10 says that it cannot restore to this version and that there is an error. I click ok and then reverts back to the itunes 10 main page. I have tried to restore my iphone back to 4.0.1 like 10 times.
My iphone has never ben jailbroken before and am trying to jailbreak it through jailbreakme.com!
I don't know whether to downgrade my itunes 10 to itunes 9.2.1 and THEN downgrade my iphone but that just seems like soooooo much work and feel like alot of things could go wrong in the process!!
Please help me to solve this problem!! Thanks guys!
