It's it safe to buy a MAC on ebay even though it's cheaper, should I just

buy from Apple online? I currently on a PC and I'm planning on buying a mac at the end of the summer, My friend got her 17 inch mac on ebay and its only 2 months old and its works great..but my other friends dont recommend it saying that it's not a good idea..and some of the mac on ebay are brand new and are selling for 300 less than they are selling it on Apple.
 
Your better off getting one directly from Apple. The main selling point behind a Mac is not the machine itself, but the support Apple put behind it. If something goes wrong, they fix it. Your not going to get that from a seller on Ebay.
