I have been having random nosebleeds for over 6 months now, sporatically and always less than 10 minutes. Sometimes I will just pull a bloody booger out and that is it.

More recently my left ear became plugged and had to have a lot of wax pulled out and irrigated by a doctor. She didn't seem concerned at all with what she saw, but I keep thinking the wax looked a little red in color. Perhaps it was bloody? but she would have noticed/cared about that I'm sure right?

If it was bloody, is there some way something in my head could be bleeding and ocassionally making its way out through my nose or ear?

I'm worried it coudl be some spore eating my brain or cancer or a tumor or something.

Hi, Duality . . . I would suggest making an appointment with an ear, nose and throat specialist. You may have some sort of infection going on that your doctor is not catching but if she believes the ear wax is no big deal, it may not be. It would just be good to get a second and a specialist opinion.

First of all, nose bleeds are often aggravated by blowing your nose hard, dry air and being around irritants (smoke and dust, for example). I would suggest especially now with winter coming on that you run a humidifier in your room at night. You should drink plenty of fluids so that you keep hydrated internally. Also, if you can handle it, try a light coating of Vaseline just inside each nostril morning and before bed time.

As for the ear wax, our only winter heat is a wood stove. My ear wax turns orange (that may be what color yours was) just because pollutants tend to get into our ears as well as getting into our respiratory system.

Tell the ear, nose and throat doctor about what you are experiencing. They are better equipped to diagnose you and recommend treatment.

Let us know how it goes!

Lindaru :)
