The majority of Americans still blame Republicans for this economy, and will blame them for problems resulting from not increasing the debt. If we default, then no republican will be elected into a meaningful position for the next decade.

It certainly didn't begin with the debt 'crisis', and it won't end there. And your 'team' is every bit as bad as the 'other side'. Chump.
 
That was legitimate. I am not sure why you think otherwise. It prevented things from getting much worse.

Not yet a crisis, but in a decade from now only the rich will be able to afford private healthcare if costs continue to go up.

Heat recorRAB were broken over 1000 times last week. It hasn't rained in Texas in 8 months and they are the second largest agricultural producer in the country. A town in Minnesota hit the highest temperature on the planet. Underground power lines expanding from heat and over use caused brown outs. RoaRAB buckled from the heat. We have seen the busiest hurricane season last year, parts of the world suffer from extreme drought, and others from extreme rainfall and flooding.

That is not a crisis to you?

i really don't know where investors would put their money if they took it out of dollars.

but then again, there is a lot of uncertainty....i think people are very used to this paradigm, and they may hold their breath until they run out of air...or the us decides to get their shit together.
 
I actually agree with you. There won't be a default. The U.S. can pay the creditors. They will pay them, then give contractors, civilian employees etc IOU's and furloughs. While many think that the people in Washington are stupid, they aren't completely fucking braindead.
 
You think they would make it 6 days with civs, military, contractors etc not getting paid? They caved on a furlough, I think they would figure it out a little faster in this instance.
