I had opened up an account with ITP for an unlimited calling plan for around $30 a month. Within two to three months of account opening they charged me around $300 indicating that they suspected my account was being used for business purposed. Despite my strong protest, they did not waive the fee. So, I ended up paying it but canceled my plan and filed a dispute with my credit card company. I also returned the equipment. My credit card company did not get a satisfactory response from ITP and therefore decided to refund my money back to me. Now, after a couple of months, ITP has sent a notice indicating it is a second notice and I need to pay them $500 and that my account is referred to collections and that they could affect my credit rating. I haven't received any earlier notice from them and I surprised by this. I want to call them up to clarify since I don't owe them anything. I don't want this to have an impact on my credit rating. Can someone suggest what are my possible options?
