Itouch Jailbreak???? Ipod?

My Itouch is 2nd gen version 3.1.2. How can i jailbreak it? I've jailbroken it once before, but that was before the software update, I'm just wondering if i should update it to version 4.2? then jailbreak it? or keep it how it is and jailbreak? and how do i jailbreak it ? :]
