Itchy swelling on leg

I have multiple autoimmune conditions incl lupus, and know you can have various vascular problems with that, but mine is pretty mild with few symptoms and not being treated currently. I'm just a shade concerned because I've developed a small (about 1 inch diameter) red itchy area overlying a lumpiness in my lower right calf. It's not painful as such but intensely itchy and you can feel the lumpiness extending much further underneath it than the redness on the skin shows - hard to say whether it's tracking a vein or not. No other symptoms with it, and it's the first time I've had such an event, though I'd routinely get dry skin in that area - this isn't anything like the itchy rash I would get with that which would resolve after moisturising. This particular problem has persisted for the last 3 days now, but it's sort of so minimal I'm reluctant to go to my GP unless there's a likely problem he can do something for anyway, hence just looking for some ideas to be thrown out so I can maybe better decide whether I need med attention or not.
