Q: Last year some parents of second graders in Lexington, Massachusetts, were outraged to learn their children's teacher had read a story about same-sex marriage, about a prince who marries another prince. Would you be comfortable having this story read to your children as part of their school curriculum?

A: My 9-year-old and my 6-year-old are already aware that there are same-sex couples. And my wife and I have talked about it. And one of the things I want to communicate to my children is not to be afraid of people who are different, and because there have been times in our history where I was considered different. And one of the things I think the next president has to do is to stop fanning people's fears.

Q: Have you sat down with your daughters to talk about same-sex marriage?

A: My wife has.

Do you consider it appropriate for so-called Christian parents to Ok same sex marriage with their 6 year old and 9year old children?
Refusing to accept sin, whether it be your own or someone else's is not hate. The Obamas should have waited until the children were of appropriate age, and explained that same sex marriage is wrong, and a sin according to the Bible!
Since Obama takes the opposite political view, one would expect that this is also what he teaches his children.

I consider it appropriate. It seems inconsistent for Christians to do so, but what is Christianity if not inconsistent?

He never comes straight out and says its ok. he just says he teaches his kids not to be afraid of people who are different.
So you see, this keeps him safe. He is straddling that political fence. He's not gonna stand boldly and stick up for his beliefs...either way. perfect member for the spineless club. You know I don't want my children to be hateful, rude or scared of people who are different either, but you better believe I am gonna share my faith and beliefs of what I feel is wrong or right. I am gonna teach my children to love the person but hate the sin!

dO READ CAREFULLY, HE DOES NOT SAY IT IS OK, HE SAYS PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT AND HAVE BEEN SO THROUGHOUT HISTORY, AND NOT TO BE SCARED OF THAT DIFFENCE OR DISCRIMINATE AGAINST. IT IS APPROPRIATE TO EXPLAIN THINGS THAT OTHERWISE WOULD BE SCARY FOR THEM, AND THEY WOULD END UP LIKE ANY IGNORANT KKK'S TOURTURING , HUMILIATING THAT KIND OF DIFFERENCE. LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE. IF IT DOES NOT HURT ANYONE ELSES LIFE, LEAVE IT ALONE. GOD CREATED THEM SAME AS THEY CREATED THE KKK TYPES.

AS FOR DIFFERNCE, HE SURE IS DIFFERENT FROM THE RUN OF THE MILL PRESIDENTS SO FAR IN COLOR, AND SPEECH, MAYBE HE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHERE OTHERS HAVE FAILED MISERABLY. AND FOR YOUR INFO, CHILDREN TODAY KNOW AND UNDERSTAND FAR BETTER THAN PEOPLE OF THEIR PARENTS GEN. JUST BECUASE THEY KNOW ABOUT THESE THINGS, DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL TURN OUT TO BE LIKE THEM, IT WILL DEPEND ON THEIR GENS AND PERFERENCES, AND IT IS OK.
