Is this true, or will an automotive 12V battery work just as well? I'm wondering if I need to buy another battery, or can I get away with using an extra one that I already have?
The auto will work for awhile but will die soon as it's made for high output for short and not made to cycle As Deep cycle will cycle more times and last longer.
You can use the one you have as long as your motor is 12v it just will not get as much run time.Trolling motors come in 12v,24v,and 36v depending on the size of the motor.Mine is a 80lb minnkota and it runs on 36 volts.
