possibilities too? I just turned 16 a month ago and I've always liked basketball but never played. When i was younger I was athletic but stopped for years. About a year ago I started rowing and now I'm in pretty good shape. I have a 6-pack, can bench my body weight, do 60+ push ups. I don't know how fast I am but I run a few times a week. The main problem I see is, I am all of 5' 4''-5''

Also is there any other sport I could possibly do. I hate rowing.
Thx for replies so fast. More are always helpful.

work hard develop a somewhat consistent jump shot and good ball handling skills and you can be a starter on varisty you can play a guard or small forward in some cases just get a basketball and dribble constantly make your weak hand just as dominant as your strong hand passing the ball comes with team chemistry but dribble Alot dribble more than you shoot and practice free throws and lay ups they are very important work hard in these areas and i promise you a starting spot or at least in rotation

Man, to be honest, it all depends on your work ethics and how good your school's varsity team is. If you continue to work hard, the only thing you can hope for is the best. If I were you, I'd try out for the football team. Football can honestly get you in shape for basketball. You seem like you'd be a good running back, so, who knows!! Whatever you do, just do your best...play like it's no tomorrow when tryouts come brotha.

no, there was a kid at my school who was 5"5 tops and played varsity, however he didnt start and coach wanted him to be more of a distributer than a scorer. and idk how long he had been playing basketball. however its not about just hard work means success thats bull****. it really depends on the coach cause some coach's are haters to small players and people who havent been in their program since the start so they can teach it to them at the start of their careers
