It is all about the biology?

what happened to a cell placed in the following environment:

1.1isotonic solution
1.2hypotonic solution
1.3hypertonic solution

plzz guyz ! give me the perfect answer! .

1.stays the same mass
2.gets bigger mass
3.gets smaller

btw thx for answering my question!

1.if the medium has exactly the same water concentration as the cell , there will be no net movement of water across the cell membrane . such a solution is known as isotonic solution

2.if the medium surrounding the cell has a higher water concentration than the cell, meaning the outside solution is very dilute, the cell will gain water by osmosis. this solution is called hypotonic solution

3. if the medium has a lower concentration of water than the cell , meaning that it is a very concentrated solution , the cell will lose water by exosmosis. this solution is called hypertonic solution
