I don't really fear the fighting aspect of it, but just the fact that we human beings can kill each other so easily with no remorse is the part that puts a chill down my spine...

I remember when we first invaded Iraq, I was in 5th grade at the time. I thought it was so cool, all those buildings in Iraq blowing up during the shock and awe. Now I whenever I see video of that shock and awe, I have mixed emotions. I feel scared knowing it could happen here and I feel amazed, just because you never really think battles like that really happen anymore, the only other war that was documented like that would be WWII. What are your emotions when you watch this video? Please be honest!

I remember watching those videos live. I was impressed with the skill and accuracy of American soldiers. We spent an immense amount of money and effort - putting our lives at risk - to try to minimize civilian casualties and damage.

War SUCKS. Period. It always will. But we, at least, try to minimize the suffering that goes along with it and we alone in the world try to clean up the mess afterwards.

Men and Nations have gone to war since the first cave man picked up the jawbone of an ass. They will continue to do so - there is NO way POSSIBLE for that to change. Which, quite simply, sucks.

I am an American Soldier. I don't like war. I don't like the fact that for my country to help people the world over have freedom and choices other people have to die. But as long as large numbers of men want to rule others and enslave them, we will need nations like America to keep them from doing so. I'm ready to do my part no matter HOW scary the concept of being in combat is.
