Fox News fans like to point out that they are #1 in the cable news ratings. That's nice, but how does that mean anything significant? Mostly conservatives watch that station, whereas liberals split up their viewership amongst CNN, MSNBC, C-Span, and the regular networks. If Fox gets 35% of the total news viewers, they can "claim" they are #1, because the other 5 stations get less than that. But a better way of looking at it is that 65% of news viewers are NOT watching FOX. With the amount of stations to choose from these days, people watch different things all the time anyways. FOX News fans watch Beck, O'Reilly, and Hannity religiously like they are deities, whereas liberals actually have jobs, lives, and hobbies other than watching cable news all the time. Liberals are also typically younger and more up to speed with the modern world, so they spend more time online. Conservatives love to bask in the glory days of our past by watching FOX News and I Love Lucy reruns.
