Most everyone I know hates TV advertising. It breaks the continuity of what you are watching. Yet, companies spend inordinate amounts of money on it. A 30 second spot in the Superbowl cost over a million dollars.
Often, kids don't particularly like religious education (indoctrination). It seems that these phenomena are somewhat similar, in that, even though the message isn't appreciated, the product gets sold.
So, how are they similar and different?
