Isn't it weird how songs from 10 years ago don't seem really dated?

I mean look at the songs of today, then go back to 1999 and look at the songs. Yes, they are different, but not the vast different that you would think. In 1999 they still had rap that sounds like the rap from today, they had crazy dance and techno music with insane beats and they still have that in 2009. Even if you look at the music videos, they do look maybe a little dated since they are not in HD, but they still look good and have the same concepts and color as today.

If we all went back to 1999 and compared songs to 1989, that's when you can see the songs from 10 years ago are really dated. The music videos had all of that blurry stuff, the fashion was very different, and the music in all was a lot different.

Look at 10 years ago in 1999 and the video "I want it that way" by the Backstreet Boys, does it really seem dated? Not really to be honest, the music still sounds relevant to today and a lot of people still wear the same kind of clothes that they did in the video.

What does everyone else think?
