...short time? Here in the Capital of Canada, in Ottawa it's a yearly custom to have expert ice sculpture carvers from all over the world compete and exhibit their masterpieces of ice sculptures. On average it takes 150 hours to carve a masterpiece out of ice, I wish there was a way to preserve this art because so much hard work goes into it. This is from the Ottawa Winterludes - Bal de neige Ice sculptures at Crystal garden, Ottawa 2007. How do you like the sculptures and what do you think make artists choose ice sculpting. I am fascinated by it, but sad that the effort melts away far too soon.

It is most definitely an art. Some build even ice palaces on a much larger scale..
