've waited table at a few restaurants. Now I work at this local restaurant for over a year.
One of the things I don't like about our rule is bringing checks before the customers finish their meal.
When I started working here, the lady trained me told me that the reason why we do that is we're very busy especially during lunch rush, so we(not me) want people to leave to open up the table.
I've worked different restaurants, but never heard that before. I dine out a lot, too, but never seen any server at any restaurant bringing checks when we're still eating.
I still wait the customer to finish the meal, ask them if they want anything else, and bring the check. I'm the only one who's doing this at my work.
I read some reviews for this restaurant on yelp and saw somebody complaining about this, too.
Do you think it's rude to bring checks when the customers are still eating?
