...Republicans glorify it? The irony to me is that in the United State of America the Bible believing Christian Church and the Republic Party have practically merged into a single entity.
Yet, Jesus condemns the the core values of the Republican Party: that it is glorious to be rich (something Rush Limbaugh says constantly); that getting rich and living the rich life is the point of life; that the strongest should dominate the rule the weakest (i.e., Social Darwinism); that government should be as small as possible so that the rich people and big corporations have as much freedom as possible to dominate and rule; that economic life should be a fierce competition, and that society sharply divided into the Winners and the Losers.
The values of Lord Jesus Christ and his true disciples are easy to see in the New Testament:
Matthew 5:5
"Blessed are the meek."
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."
1 Timothy 6:9
"But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction."
Luke 6:24
"But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation."
