relativism? Evil is Evil? The US is a country which:

-Has legalised torture.

-Kidnaps foreign citizens outside its own borders and ships them to torture camps outside the US to circumvent the anti-torture laws they do have ('extraordinary rendition').

-Locks innocent people up for years without trial.

-Overthrows democratic govts for economic gain (see Operation Ajax).

Choosing between Al Qaeda and the Americans is as irrational as choosing between Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin.

Just look at their history and you will see that bloodlust is in the American psyche.

First the Indians got in their way so they commited a genocide (killing at LEAST 2 million).

Then the blacks got “uppity” and demanded equality so they lynched many thousands (the killers repeatedly acquitted by all white juries).

Now the Muslims are the targets of their hatred. Thank goodness I’m not a Muslim - there is no limit to the bloodthirstiness of Americans.

Since there is such a conflict between the two, I think it will be decades before the war on terrorism ends. After watching 9/11 I definately take sides with America. How many innocent lives were taken that day and how many families were left distraught. Further to that, firefighters and other aid officials inhaled a lot of aspestos etc and are suffering debilitating conditions. Seriously, I will never get past the sadness and trauma of that day.

I don't think America is all evil. No nation or country is.
