To leave a crater 60 feet wide and 25 feet deep - incinerating most of the hotel - but perhaps most telling was the incneration of every car in the parking lot, and temperatures guessed at 400 degrees C.

Papers report 600Kg of RDX, some TNT - but supposedly the b0mbers packed aluminium powder around it.

Something doesn't add up. - Why bother with the Al powder?

US Military torpedoes are normally filled with RDX/TNT mix - INCLUDING Al powder. - But two would be needed for a hole this size.

So who supplied them ?

There is also the possibility of a tactical micro nuke - but if that is the case - there will be more deaths from neutron radiation exposure in the next 3 days.

SInce explosives are more 'available' in that part of the 'civilized' world it was probably some of the stuff that Saddam sent out of country before his regime collapse.
But you can't rule out the good old fertilizer bomb. Fertilizer and Diesel is what Timmy Mc-Vanity used to blow up The Murray Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It left a pretty impressive hole as well.
