Tropical Storm Isaac has strengthened to 60mph as of the 10am advisory. The track has shifted slightly eastward away from Acadiana.
Isaac has become a little better organized as the upper level pattern has become more favorable and dry air has moved away from the center of circulation. It is still expected to drift toward the northwest over the next few days, but that would take it over a large part of Cuba. As long as it's over land, it can't strengthen. So the intensity forecast has been dropped slightly as well over the next 5 days. Isaac is still expected to be a Category 1 hurricane as it approaches the northern Gulf coast. The target area now extents from southeast Louisiana to the central Florida panhandle with the most likely area being Florida.
