Is Wordpress 2.3.3 is compatible with php 5?

i have wodpress2.3.3 installed on my hosting which is running on php 4 , now i want to upgrade the php version to php 5 , my concern is it will going to effect my existing wordpres application or not?

if yes then what should i have to do to stop that or solve that .

Please help me out.
