Is is true that Wachovia is bankrupted? I have a student loan will them and I haven't gotten a payment reminder since October. So what is going on with my loan? Who do I pay now?

i think wachovia filed for bankruptcy a month ago. but you may want to check it out and make sure what has happened with your loan and everything.

Call the number you have for the college loan and find out. If it looks like this may cause you problems, ask for a loan extension until February. I bank at Wachovia and they were bought out by Wells-Fargo. I don't know who owns the college loans. However, conversion starts this month. I would try to get an extension to last until after conversion is over with. I have been through bank conversions before and they can really mess things up even when they go right.
