I worked at a boutique shop and from the day I walked in for an interview, the CEO of the company, who is a female, gave me catty looks. Now, she was accompanied by her mother, it is as family owned business. Fast forwarding, I get a call back, I get the job and since I worked there there is just miscommunication with the boss and I. She is there most days and gives me certain "looks" long story short, one day she TEXT me saying. "For your information, the flyers do not go on the windowsill, I've been seeing flyers there and they below by the front." I replied with, " Good afternoon, for your edification, I did not move the flyers, in fact I didn't touch them at all. Thank you." I got fired the day after that incident because I disagreed with the fact that edification was used inappropriately when it was not. What are your thoughts on this ? Was I wrong for using the word edification ?
Is using the word "edification" inappropriate to your boss/supervisor ?
