Is using greenpois0n to jailbreak my iPod safe?

I have a 3G 64 gig iPod touch and everyone says greenpois0n is the best way to jailbreak for my iPod

I was wondering:
Will the download harm my computer?
Or Will jailbreaking harm my iPod?


Basically is it safe and what are the risks?
