Both are good,I prefer the stationary bicycle, because It is easier on my joints, and I still do some walking at the local Mall or when shopping, using stairs etc. If you have access to both use them interchangeably. When you are tired of walking you can use the bike. Depending on your pregnancy, it is not necessarily so, you can be careful about your diet during pregnancy, and have a nice healthy and slim baby (talk with your Doc) and not put on too much weight yourself. and have an easier delivery ,as well Best wishes.

treadmill be better? It's time to get back into shape and lose a little weight but don't want to do too much too fast since I am trying to get pregnant again. I had my son 9 months ago and want to lose as much weight I can in a healthy way before I get pregnant again. I've heard the 2nd pregnancy weight can sometimes be doubled from the first and if that does happen I'll be a huge balloon! After I have my 2nd child that is when I will push myself into some heavy cardio exercises and toning. But for now want to do simple exercises. I have a treadmill but wonder if a stationary bicycle would do me better or use in addition. Any suggestions?

It depends on how hard you work on either machine. A treadmill will engage more muscles than a stationary bicycle, but depending on your speed, you may lose more calories overall on a stationary bike. You should try mixing up your exercise routine to get the best of both worlds.

It is best if you have a mixture of exercise. The treadmill is fine, but is only one type of exercise. Go buy some low cost weights and mix in 10 or 15 minutes of free weight exercise into your workout. That will be much more effective than a treadmill or bicycle alone would be.

And with your treadmill, use trainer workouts if they are available. Your treadmill might support ifit modules. They are good workouts.
