I am accepted into UC Santa Barbara as a freshman this fall, it's the only 4 year school that accepted me. I want to get an economics degree, but I don't know anything about the reputation of their department, other than in one ranking online, their PhD Econ was ranked 53rd nationally. Should I go there this fall for an Econ BA, or go to a community college and transfer to a more prestigious econ school, like UC San Diego (it has Transfer Admission Gaurantee)?
Is UC Santa Barbara's undergrad economics degree worth anything?
