He will get in and his saves are the third or fourth reason why - it's his ERA and Whip - some of the WHIPS he threw up there were monster, the year he came in second in the CY with a 1.48, he had a WHIP of 0.84. The question is will he make it as a first balloter?
I say no. Saves are overrated so that's not going to get him in, (otherwise Lee Smith would be in now) and unlike Rivera, he has no WS wins and not a lot of Post season (and what he does was below average). Overall he's got the stats, but especially with relievers having the toughest time getting in, he will not be a First Balloter. He will get in on the third try. What say you?
Bagwell is not "unquestionably" a HOFer.
Also Bagwell did not get 50% of the voet, he got 41. And there will always be the question of steroids with him, there is no such question with Hoffman.
