We wish to cycle around Cuba in November this year(2008). We wish to stay at casa familiaries? and travel for 2 weeks. Is this a reasonable thing to do after the hurricanes? Will there be enough food at the casas? Will the roads be good enough for bicycles in western Cuba (Havana, Vinales, Trinidad etc)? Is this a bad idea?

Since you ask, I shall tell you that, in general, it is a bad idea to visit Cuba while it is ruled by a comunist government

Why ?
Several reasons. Your money helps the dictators to stay in power. Also, your presence there gives the government an appearance of normalcy, legitimate, and approval

About whether will be enough food at the houses, it depends. We are a very resourceful people. And there is a very good organized black market in Cuba to obtain anything

At the present moment, however, I am not sure about the food. According to the information I have the hurricanes have made the usual scarcity much worse, and poor Raulito is striving to deal with the situation ( I don't mean solve it, just keep the power in his hands )
