wow....such a response......nice.
for me i have had everything from bike shop dirt bikes (sponsers) to used bikes and new from the 70's to current...mostly new....with about 15 or so used ones (maybe more ..).....i'd suggest that you should evalute each one by itself.....who is/was the owner...how many miles...how was it ridden according to the owner vs how was it ridden to you eyes and senses.....and of course how much cheaper is it than new........if it is all painted aNd has new chains and tires, it has likely been dressed up and ridden hard.....new is lovely 'cause you have total control over how it is broken and riden for its life....used if it saves you enough is a balancing act that frankly is something worth looking at....a few scratches from a newboie who is semi-scared and cant really aford it is great! balance cost vs use--thats the bottom line.....
** I had wanted ducati's since the 70's ...but they were to hard to maintain for club racing back back then w/o a local shop....then wanted a 1098 since they came out in 2007....I almost cant believe i bought a used 1908R....yes an R!....but....it only had about 200 miles from a gentelman in his 60's...already had the dealer change the oil once...then he just traded it for a troy baliss paint job.....and i got 15K off for this llimited use...**
thats my 2cents....wish you the best...but I always wanted a duc.....had and worked for hon/yam/suz..rode everythin g from ossa/bultaco/kaw/yam/hon/bmw/HD/ktm/MV/etc....not only have 7 bikes and 1 duc...which is my fav for fun (not for comfort)..and love that i have it!
