I was at work and asked to attend a meeting about the previous week's productivity. My former employer asked me to start by explaining what was happening (I am a recruiter... lots of cold calling, etc...) I said that I was having trouble getting three sepearate companies to call me back after they had said they would like for me to work on their openings. My former employer decided to explode and said "would you like to go talk in the other room" - I said sure let's go in the other room. We walked in his office and he said "I am going to send you home for the day, but I will pay you because that's the kind of guy I am" and he would li9ke me to come back early the next morning. I came in and asked him why he was so abrasive and he said that "it just isn't going to work out" - I got my commission and then he tried to block me from getting unemployment. -- The appeal meeting for the California EDD started with an oath, which I did in person and my former employer and an ex-co-worker said over the phone. They both said I told my ex-employer to "bring it on" (trying to create an insubordinate attitude) and the fat chic said I "cussed at two different potential customers over the phones" --- Both were extreme lies and not only under oath but on tape. Can I sue him for slander, lying under oath as well as my potential deals that I lined up over the prior seven months of cold calling?
