I see no contradiction between a belief and God and religion and a belief in science and evolution. As early as the 1950s, my own parents were taught that believing in evolution does not make one a bad Christian, so long as one acknowledge that God lent his "invisible hand" to the process (some would call it "intelligent design") I suppose...and this was at a Catholic private school (c. 1958, Italy)
I, for one, am not Christian, but I do believe in a personal God, and an Afterlife, and yes, intelligent design.

In all fairness, I don't see how ridicule is going win any converts (pardon the pun)
