Is this whole Creation-Evolution debate really necessary?

I see no contradiction between a belief and God and religion and a belief in science and evolution. As early as the 1950s, my own parents were taught that believing in evolution does not make one a bad Christian, so long as one acknowledge that God lent his "invisible hand" to the process (some would call it "intelligent design") I suppose...and this was at a Catholic private school (c. 1958, Italy)

I, for one, am not Christian, but I do believe in a personal God, and an Afterlife, and yes, intelligent design.
"This is one of those issues where you have to call it out as it is. People who don't believe in evolution are un-educated morons. That is the cold hard truth"

*shrug*

LOL
I've heard that Richard Dawkins, a major British proponent of "evolutionary psychology" wrote an article in Newsweek ridiculing "creationists"

In all fairness, I don't see how ridicule is going win any converts (pardon the pun) :)

He's angry that many Americans don't agree with him...Hmm. That's kinda pathetic :)

well considering there is not an ounce of science backing up evolution the god haters seem to back it just because they dont want to believe in god or his creations.

there are plenty of athiest scientist who think evolution is a major joke.

Micheal Behe- read some parts from his book (if you know how)

Sir Fred Hoyle
Chandra Wickramasinghe

both were awarded the International Dag Hammarskjod Gold MEdal for Science

Hoyle has won the frayfoord prize from teh royal swedish academy of sciences, the klumpke-roberts award of the astronomical society of the pacific, the royal medal, the bruce medal, and the gold medal of the royal astronomical society

Wickramisinghe has the highest doctorate (Sc. D.) from the University of Cambridge and an honorary doctorate from teh Soka University of Tokyo. is a professor of mathematics and astronomy

both are athiests- both dismiss the theory of evolution as preposterous and laughable.

Francis Crick, the Nobel Prize winner for his codiscovery of DNA

they all laugh at evolution. but remain athiest. evolution has NO evidence behind it.

the idea that we share a common ancestor with rocks is a joke.

There are no gods. If there were some all-powerful god, what would be the point of hiding?

There truly will be no greater human triumph than human being that vanquishes these fairy tales.

Um ... no, it is not.

If you believe in intelligent design you are a MORON.

This is one of those issues where you have to call it out as it is. People who don't believe in evolution are un-educated morons. That is the cold hard truth.
