I was emailing my professor saying that Im almost done the upcomming essay but am having trouble with it still - it seems to lack focus and I'm concerned since i feel it should be more concrete at this stage. I asked if he could read my thesis before the due date so that he could tell me if im pointed in the right direction. My prof answered by saying that yes he would look at my thesis and "please take some more time if you need it, hand in your best work. Most of the other students are handing in the essay on time so I will be busy marking those anyway. Just dont wait too long or you won't get much comentary."
I was happily shocked - I thought that professors only gave extentions for extreme cases like a death in the family or if you got a monster flu days before the assignment was due. And when is it appropriate to hand it in - how long is too long? Is the last essay of the year maybe thats why. Idk.
