Today I bought Grumbacher Picture and Oil Painting Gloss Varnish. At the bottom is says "final resin based varnish for oil and acrylic painting." I used water-based acrylic paint on a canvas, and I want to protect it from dust and fading and such. But it's a wedding gift for my brother and I really don't want to ruin it, after all the time I have spent, and will continue to spend, working on it. So, has anyone had experience with this brand or know if resin-based varnish is suitable for water-based acrylic?
