I just opened a new jar of Trader Joe's Double-Roasted Salsa. When I opened it, something weird happened. It made a depressurizing sound (sort of like when you open a sode or pop a tire) and sprayed a little bit of salsa on my hand that was holding the glass jar. Apparently it seems like some salsa was stuck between the jar rim and the jar top when it was sealed, because there's some dried-looking bits of salsa around the outside of the rim. The salsa inside looks okay (no mold or anything). It smells okay, maybe a little strange smell, I can't really tell because I don't have another jar of this salsa to compare it to. What should I do? Should I eat it? Or is there likely something wrong with it ?
