I'm a fan of Brooke Hogan, and I recently found my friend is friends with her on facebook. I asked her if it was genuine and she said yes, and her sister or something went to Miami and met her. When I typed her in on my friends friend list, she came up with a picture of her and her network was miami, florida, and thats where she lives. I thought celebs had fan pages, not proper accounts, or can they? Do you think this is real?

The username should say something like 'BrookeHoganOfficial' or something. If there is no mention of official on her username or page or anything then I doubt it is really her. People could easily lie and pretend to be someone they aren't online.

I don't own facebook though, so I have no idea.

alot of people on facebook pretend to be celebrities and join a network where they know that celeb lives.
but some celebrity accounts are real. its not true that they can only have fan pages, they can have normal ones like all the rest of us. so it could be real. look out for signs of pictures that look private i.e. you have never seen them before like on the internet. and also ask your friend if when she looks at 'brooke's' wall if all the comments sound like comments from fans or if there are some that look to be written by friends of hers.
