Okay me and the mother of my child split up, we were never married. I signed an acknowledgment of paternity at the time of birth so that is not debatable, but what i want is to make sure i will still be able to see my child even though my new girlfriend and my ex do not get along. They argue and threaten each other and I don't want to get in the middle of all of this.
Anyways, i went to see an attorney and he wants a $1500 retainer/$210 an hour.
I know different lawyers charge different amounts, but i was just served 3/14/09 and my court is set for 4/1/09 and my ex used my family's attorney so i have no idea. What to do seeing as after this weekend i dont have much time and everyone wants bewteen 50-100 dollars for consult and i cannot afford all of this.
