Hi, I have a picture here I took of the wires coming out of my dash, and I'm trying to figure out which is the ground wire for my stereo. There is no black regular wire that plugs into the harness, and with the exception of the antenna wire on the right, nothing else fits the description on the wiring sites that say it should be black in my car. The wire in this picture was plugged into the back of the stock tape player as well. Please let me know if the wire in this picture is the ground wire for the stereo. Thanks!

One person said it's for the stock stereo only, would I have to cut off the connector and splice the wires themselves?
If I were to attach it to an unpainted part of metal, such as inside of the dashboard behind the stereo wires (if that's a good place), could I just use electrical tape to put it on? I don't have any soldering equipment. Thanks.

That is NOT a ground wire. That's part of the factory antenna setup. Your stock radio uses two antennae; it's called a "diversity" system. Don't cut off the connector. You won't use that antenna plug with your new radio, but you'll want to have it there if you ever put the factory radio back in.

The ground wire should be one of the wires in the larger white plug. If you use an adapter harness (highly recommended), there should be a ground wire in the harness that will match up with the factory ground. Otherwise you can run your new deck's ground wire to a metal point in the dash or on the firewall. The best way to connect it would be to crimp on a ring terminal, then screw it down with a sheet metal screw. You can also fasten it under a factory screw or bolt.
