Although Atticus sacrifices his time and social life, he has compassion for Tom Robinson because he is suffers discrimination.
i mean *because he suffers*
 
Apart from the fact that you need to add "from" after suffers, yes it's correct. Personally, I think I would put it this way, though.

Although Atticus sacrifices his time and social life, he still has compassion for Tom Robinson because Tom suffers from discrimination.
