Is this poem good? I'm not much of a poet but... just want others opinions?

I have to write a poem for AP Lit. It's a confession poem, but it's from Janie Crawford's, the main character of Their Eyes Were Watching God, point of view when reflecting on the things she wanted to say to Jody and how she felt during their marriage. So this is my poem let me know what you think.

Let Me Speak

Let me speak.
I have a voice.
I scream from within.
You do that a lot, the speaking for me thing.
Can I at least try?
When you do this, I laugh like everything is fine.
It's not. Story of my life.
Then you parade down the street.
And I feel so cold inside. You unaware of course.

Controlling is thy name.
You try to oppress me with your words.
I'm old,
this I know. The difference between us,
I'm comfortable in my skin.
I don't tear down others to elevate myself.
But...
This time is different. I take a stab at your ego.
Doesn't feel too great, does it?
All the mixed emotions that follow humiliation.
I'm used to it.

As you lay on your death bed, I feel I'm obligated to tell you,
to justify my intentions as your wife.
You don't want to hear what I have to say,
but I speak anyway.
I let go of all these suppressed emotions,
rage,
sadness,
and relief.
Were at opposite ends of the spectrum now.
I speak. I have a voice.
