Is this normal?

Hey guys, I'm looking at buying my first Ducati. It will hopefully be a 2007 Monster S2R 1000. Anyways everything on the bike looks mint except for what appears to be a oil stain on the side of the engine where two vent tubes come to an end (next to the oil level window). The owner of the bike said this is normal for these engines, and it would be more worring if there was no oil there? Is this guy telling the truth? Here is a picture of the oil stain.
 
Looks very clean otherwise, take it to a dealer and have them look it over. Have the seller pay for half of the inspection fee or negotiate it into the price. Vent tubes should vent so it seems normal to me.
 
I'll leave that one to someone with some actual knowledge. I believe they vent pressure from the crankcase but again that question is better answered by someone with actual knowledge. If nobody answers check with the dealer or look at the owners manual.
