Hi there , just wondering if anyone could help me with this, there are some things bout my 15 months old behavior that concern me a bit but I am not sure weather I am overreacting because he is my only child and I have really no experience in this area.He is extremely clingy and will not play for more than few minutes by himself especially if I leave the room, he doesn't enjoy his baths especially water being poured over his face, it freaks him out and he wants to get out of the tub, but he has no problem swimming and splashing in the pool with his dad or being in the ocean even seems very attracted to it.I tried all sorts of tricks and tried showers as well, its a bit better but he constantly points towards the shower door like he wants out.He constantly wants to be picked up, sort of grabs my skirt or raises his arms and when I pick him he points like he wants me to carry him in a certain direction or sometimes just scratches my back or bites my neck(not painful)like frustrated.Sometimes when he sees that I'm about to put him down he tightens his legs around my body like a little koala. We spend lots of time just two of us and sometimes when the phone rings he gets scared if I get up and run to pick it up, if I ignore the phone he is ok most of the time.Sometimes he also makes this weird movement with his fingers like flicking but not for long.He crawled at 11 months and now he is just starting to walk like 10 meters or so at the time and then goes back to crawling.Sometimes (not always and not everywhere)if I go to a friends house he will not let me put him down or play with toys unless I play with him , or I will be holding him and he points to certain direction and says boooo booo booo and keps pointing and shouting until I take him there.....
On the other hand he responds well to his name, makes eye contact, enjoys playing peek a boo, waves bye bye when he wants too, sometimes says eehhh to strangers without being spoken too first, smiles and laughs, loves wiggles and teletubbies, eats well and everything, has two naps per day and wakes up once or twice per night for a bottle and few times if he looses his dummy. He is not overly excited about being picked up by a stranger but if ignored for a while he will eventually approach. He is very vocal but mostly babbles, no real clear words but does say things that sound like duck, bubble, bird.He can point to mummy , daddy, nana, grandpa, nose, eyes. His favorite thing is when I read him the books and points with index finger when I ask him to point a bird, duck, dog or a pig and than claps when I say yaaay Dylan that's right as if he enjoys approval. He can kick a ball when I ask him to.He is interested in his surroundings and opens cupboards, and takes things out etc.Sorry for putting so many details but I am really concerned and in the same time I am wondering weather my concerns are highlighted by the fact that my partner works away and I spend most of my time with my son alone. That's what my parents think and they try to help as much as they can but still they have their own house and jobs.....I would really enjoy your input.I know I should get him evaluated if I have concerns but just wondering weather some of you have kids with same kind of behavior and consider it normal. Thanks
