Hello all.

I'm using the Telus Milestone. Got it the day it laucnhed, and it came with android 2.0.1
I loved it. For 3 months I rocked with my milestone, showing it off to my fellow friends who are iBiotches

Then came the update....

Android 2.1update is what I'm currently running. I can honestly say, its almost as bad as my previos phone(s), the Blackberry 9530 Storm. So I wanted to know if my problems are a usual occorance in Android 2.1 update.

Problems:
-Force closing of many apps, including my own "system".
-Browser crashing attempting to load youtube.
-screen randomly jumps when scrolling, or attempting to select something.
-Phone runs A LOT slower.
-screen shrinks to half at times when browsing o_O
-Frequent reboots
-internet wifi won't work if I press the back botton when webbrowsing too many times. I have to turn off wifi, load the browser (then it errors messages there's no connection) then turn my wifi back on in order to browse again. Otherwise, Roboot to solve.

Of them all, the scroller pi$$es me off. Ill click a link, or a contact, and the screen will completely fly in a upwards direction.

All this has beeen happening for 4 months now. =/
I'm at the breaking point where I no longer enjoy my milestone. Honestly, its such a well built peice of hardware. But android 2.1 has made it soo glitchy.
Does everyone else go thru this? I speak the truth when I tell you, I never had these problems with adnroid 2.0.1 which I'm gonna try reverting back to cause of this garbage (not before I call telus and reem them out for releasing this pile of grabage)

Just wondering is all this is normal for android 2.1 users.

....yeah, that's not normal.

If you're running on the milestone (600mhz cpu), and you have flash installed on your browser -- I'd uninstall it. That will probably fix your youtube/browser lag.

Might be time for an upgrade as well. That phone is pretty slow compared to today's available lot.

And you just accept glitches like that?

Anywho, The CRTC will not allow Verizon into CANADA. Simply put, Verizon would man handle Bell, Rogers, And Telus. So CRTC is allowing these 3 giants to continue with their unfair buisness and gouging customers. We are FORCED to accept their agreements and unfortunatly, our carriers operate on different band frequencies than that of most U.S. carriers. So, importing a DROID X or DROID 2 is futile, because it is not compatible.

So Reiterrate this: we are told to sit down, shut up and like it. Seriosly.
The newest phone to launch here in canada, is the samung Galaxy S for Rogers, and Blackberry Torch.
We do not have HTC incredible. We do not have Droid2, Droid X, or any other pretty android phones.
So literally, My Milestone, is one of the most powerful phones available, under the Galaxy S, Experia X10. Sandly...

So I'm gonna be sticking in out until sometime next year, 2011, when Telus decides to move their ass and bring in the Droid 2. By that time, U.S. carriers should have Droid 3 LMAO

On another note, I can Root my milestone and run an app that will allow me to overclock my Cpu over 1Ghz. What say you to that? The only down side here is I can't upgrade the phones ram. And of course, there's a bit of work... not so simple as running the app...

really, what would probably help your phone our would be a factory reset, then manually update the phone again. for some reason, after an update, this kind of thing happens to a small percentage of phones.

I downloaded the dolphin browser. Works amazing. I also did some searching on google and found these problems to be common. Android 2.1update -simply put, is a pile of crap. Im reverting to 2.0.1 when i have time

but thanks for the answers. I understand im prolly one of the rare ones who got the worst of it =p
