Is this normal for post hiking?

Last Thursday I went hiking for the first time (it was a pretty intense hike) and I haven't been active for almost a month in a half because I was going through treatments for TMJ. The day after the hike I noticed that my right foot was somewhat tingly. The next morning when I woke up and stepped down, there were pins and needles feelings on the bottom of my foot near my toes. When I sit, I just constantly feel this tingliness in my foot. It's been a week now and it's still there. The strange thing, my left foot is starting to act up just like it now too, it's feeling tingly. I am also starting to feel soreness in my legs' muscles. Is it common for this to happen? Feeling the after effects after a hike, a week later? How long do you think this will last?

I went to the doctors yesterday and she said she believes that the nerves got irritated due to improper shoes used. But what I don't understand is why did the left leg started acting up now...a week after the hike?
