Is This Normal Doctor Behavior Or Is He Flirting?

So I've had this optometrist I've seen a few times, and his behavior puzzles me.

Here are some things that have really thrown me off:

1) After exam, he gave me his hand to help me up from chair (didn't need help)
2) He's looked me up and down a couple of times, quite slowly actually and smiling
3) When I was getting my prescription glasses at counter, he interrupted his exam with another patient and came out to quickly ask how I was doing as I was walking by, and then he looked me up and down.

My last check-up:
1) We talked quite a bit about our personal lives (our colleges, phobias, etc). We laughted quite a bit, and what should have been a quick 10 minute exam for him turned out to be almost an hour of mostly talking about our lives. He even joked, "okay let's get to the exam"

2). He told me it was so nice to "have a real conversation with someone"

2) He talked about his religious background and even asked what my family's background was (he thought I was his same religious background?).

3) After exam, he walked me out to reception and introducted me to the front desk women. The front desk women kept looking back and forth at us a little confused.
4) He kept steady eye contact and very dilated pupils.

5) When he walked to the back, even though he was talking to someone, he kept looking at me as I was at the counter.

6) When he was examing me last time, he made a joke that when he has kids of his own how he'd check their eyes. Then he paused for a few beats and said "...if I ever have kids"

7) Most recent: he fitted me for contacts and I said they are a good fit. He then said I had two options: I can call in if I have problems or I can schedule an exam a week later and see how its going. I said "its okay, I'll just wear them and see how it goes" but he recommended I make an appt to see him next week...so I'm seeing him next week.

I know he's not married, or at least no wedding ring. He told me how much he loves living on his own....

I I don't know if I'm really reading into it too much or do you think he's attracted or if this is common etiquette between doctor-patient and I don't know if I'm attracted yet but I'm intrigued! I don't want to hit on a doctor or make myself obvious. Whadda you think?
