shelter when it's raining? That's what our next door neighbours do! The dog has NO shelter whatsoever. We have a Yorkie puppy ourselves and we'd never do that. We were thinking of contacting the animal welfare services or something? Sometimes, usually we think, they leave food and water but not today. It seems cruel to us. If you were us would you report it?
According to our neighbours their dog is a puppy too. Our neighbours and ourselves are already basically at war over our Yorkie barking. (which she does of course but not excessively.....and the law says dogs can bark but not excessively) So, whether we report it or not the happy, friendly neighbour bit is already over.
Yessica: We think it is neglect and cruel. Problem is it's private property, we can't simply jump over the wall and feed and water their dog and even try to give him some shelter.....we could possibly be in trouble if we did. Our neighbours and ourselves are already at knifes drawn over another issue (our puppy barking) Btw, before we asked them how do they stop their puppy from barking and the as*hole husband said slap it! These are the kind of ignorant people we're dealing with.
Dru: Thanks but we are in Ireland not the Uk. We'll see if we can find the relevant phone numbers here. Thanks anyway.
Dru: We do already leave the radio on for our own dog. She's usually fine when inside, most of the time. She'll sometimes bark when in our back garden however, as is normal. And we have already conatcted the police here and we're within our rights to have a barking dog as long as she doesn't bark excessively, and she doesn't. Oh and I meant to type UK, not Uk or course. : )
Here and There: They usually do leave food and water so maybe the just forgot or possibly but unlikely the dog ate and drank it all already. The wall seperating our back gardens isn't so high, maybe 4 ft, its very easy to see in. The dog has no shelter even though it's been raining on and off all day. In fact the neighbour returned home at luchtime, had his lunch or whatever and left....still leaving the dog outside. Tried to phone the ISPCA twice but just got a recording. Will probably try later again.
