Hi,
On June 16,08 I had surgery for:
Severe Stenosis L4-L5/s/p L4-S1 disectomy/ L5-S-1 Lamintectomy
Lurabar facetectomy L4-L5/ transforaminal posterior
Lurabar interbody fusion L4-S1
In June of 08 I had to have to stents put in. Left leg was !00% blocked and right leg was 95% blocked. Doctor said it was common from this type of surgery ,but blame it on smoking etc.
That why I was having problems walking and still do.
My left leg is going nurab when walking or standing at the thigh area.
Vascular doctor say it's my sciatica.
Has anyone else had this problem especially after all this time?
Thanks,
Prayers to those that need them.

Hello Mary

My husband is dealing with the same symptoms of nurabness down the thigh and into the calf but not in the foot.

The docs are recommending a fusion for his condition

He has arthritis in the back and spondi and scoliosis. He has been dealing with it for over a year now and I don't know how common this is, but I thought I would write to tell you, you are not alone.

I continue to remind myself that God is the Great Physician and I continue to ask him to lay his hanRAB on my husbanRAB surgeon to heal him and surround him with PT and others to help him get his life back!

I wish you all the success in your endeavor also!

Sorry my right leg is going nurab. I am still having problem with the outside of left leg and foot except the arch that is nurab.
Thanks Hip21t2, Sorry to hear about your husband.
Please get a 2nd opinion.
My problem started out with the sciatica.
Mine started out just my left side of left foot nurab after 2 surgeries the feeling was coming back and I re injured my back again.
Since my fusion my outside of left leg and foot stays nurab.
I saw the doctor in July and I asked him about it and he said it was still to soon to say if it would be permanent.
I got my disability in Aug,but lost my back doctor and regular doctor because they don't accept Medicaid.
Please let me know how your husband doing.
Sending Prayers your way.

Mary

I really hope you get some relief, did your fusions solidify yet?

did your doctor use your own bone graft for your fusions?

Also, Mary, I recently read a very interesting article from the Journal of Austrailian Medicine that talks about supplementing with Vitamin D and Calcium to help heal fusions faster.

I would definetly get your Vitamin D levels checked before starting it and when/if you do need supplementation, make sure you take the D3 prefreably by Carlsons.

Did you get Social security Disability?

My husband has been off of work for over a year and he has been denied twice for the disability which is jepordizing our home right now.

How long did it take you to get it?

I hope you will get proper care you need and I pray that God will heal you soon and lay his hand on your new doctors heart to help you, I really do.

Why do you have to go on Medicaid, does your husband have insurance to cover you?

Take care Mary
Toni

The doctor said i fused. But something is not right.
I can even feel something shift.

I will sure into vitamins.
I got turned down twice and got a lawyer and won.
I applied in Dec 07,but they messed my second one up so I had to wait again. Also I tried to go back to work 4 times. Which also messed things up.

I am not married so I am hoping to keep my Medicaid.
I have to reply for it since I don't get ssi,but disability. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Thank you for the prayers.
Sending prayers to your husband and you as well.

I believe you receive Medicare after being on social security disability for two years. Doesn't make any sense to me either. Good luck to you.

Yes it is 2 yrs I looked it up.Ugh.
I took the papers down to DHS,but they didn't say anything so I guess i just wait and see
Thanks,

I got turned down for Medicaid because I don't get SSI.
So now I guess I have to call SSD to see when I will be able to get Medicare.
I need to see someone I can't get any answer about the right leg going nurab when standing and what ever it is that shifting.
Thanks,
