I wasn't eager to be moving to DC yet I wasn't sad to leave New York. I didn't have anything I loved that I was leaving behind except my room in which I had adapted to all my life. No friends due to being socially awkward but that was fine by me. My mom and dad suggested I go to therapy when I entered junior high school. They thought a girl my age should atleast have one friend. I found that to be ridiculous. Who were they to judge. In a home where they argued everyday over simple things i'd say they needed the therapy or divorce. When Sheila came into our lives and stole my dad from my mom I was hardly made at the home wreckage. It was the cure for our unhappy house we called home. The town may have seen a happy marriage between my mom and dad. I mean they were great pretenders but I knew the truth of course. My dad tried to please my mom I must admit but when she got a hold of alcohol which was quite often there was no talking to her. She was a functional alcoholic. I feel she only drank to deal with her emotions. I probally get my emotinally numbness from her. My dad and mom finally got the much needed divorce. He decided tolet her have everything. Including me. The child support check seemed to solve all of the problems. My dad felt his money was showing that he loved me and mom was just happy for an additional income. I wasn't hurt by this at all or if I was I couldn't feel it for some odd reason. The only thing that did affect me was my mom selling the house like a complete dumb ***. We moved to DC and was now living in an apartment. A huge downgrade. I overheard some conversations and the reason being is she met a guy online in the DC area. I knew this was why we were here and it was totally stupid. My mom quit her job although we were financially stable all to be closer to some guy she couldn't have known much about. Unless she was having an affair which wouldn't surprise me one bit being in a pointless marriage.

Today was the first day at this new school.
"Honey have a great day and make friends this is a new beginning for us I'll be here to pick you up at 3:00" my mom stated.
"I come here tolearn not make friends but sure mom" I replied.
Getting out of the car. Checking to make sure I didn't leave anything.
"I Love You" my mom blew a kiss.
"You too" I said pretending to catch the kiss.
As I entered homeroom I noticed an empty chair in the back of the class. I was glad being far away from the teacher was my motto. Now I just prayed he wouldn't allow the new students to introduce themselves. I hate social settings with a passion but my parents refused my suggestion of being home schooled.I was fine being a straight A know it all student at my previous school. Most wouldn't even know I was highly intelligent. I certainly don't volunteer like the usual over achiever. I just do my work most of the time finishing early and writing a short story which entertains me. If I had a sense or care for fashion I'd probally be seen as the stuck up type. For refusing to dumb myself down. I've went unnoticed all my life and it was lovely.
"Goodmorning glad to see all of you here that made it on time a perfect way to start the school year"
People were still talking amongst themselves.
He cleared his throat and tapped on the table. The room went silent.
"I see some new faces in here how about everyone new stand up and introduce yourselves"
I was dreading that. The last thing I wanted to be was acknowledged.
There were 8 students standing including myself. He pointed to the boy at the front of the room to start first. Choosing a seat way in the back caused me to be last. I hoped everyone would dose off or be daydreaming by then.
"My name is Josh and I'm 16"
"Louder please I am giving you permission to use your outside voice" the teacher urged.
He spoke up really loud causing the classroom to laugh.
Next there was a girl who seemed to be addicted to the darkside judging from her black nails, black dress and black shoes. Her shoes happen to have the thickest soles I'd ever seen.
"Yeah, I'm Demi not that any of you care because personally I don't give a damn about any of you and No I don't worship the devil don't judge a book by its cover"
Her introduction caused me to laugh. I was actually feeling the same way she did. The teacher had a shocking look on his face. He shook his head in displeasure.
"Demi I'm going to ask that you don't use profanity in my classroom"
"Wow since when was damn considered profanity, whatever" she replied.
The class laughed. The next five introduced themselves. One of the girls going on and on about where she came from, her hobbies, goals and the teacher had to stop her. It was all on me now. I took a deep breath and felt sweat creeping up on my neck. Just then a rea
