This question stems from a mindless book my sister read, and a debate that followed... (The crass wording in the quote was omitted.)
The character in the book said when she was younger, she "accidentally [took her virginity] with a tampon. It hurt like heII! There was extra bleeding, too!."
Two of us say it's possible, and have heard about it on "real life" medical shows. Another two of us, and myself, say it's not possible. We think the author was going a bit overboard by writing it.
What do you think? Is this possible? Or was the author making things up?
